Our quest in 1977 was to find a place with abundant water, privacy, and potential to make our living, grow our own food, and raise our children and ourselves.  Our great good fortune was finding this place in a holler high up in a mountain community in Madison County, NC.  We moved here with milk goats, chickens, dogs, cats, horses, and the rest is history…

Eventually, we hope to add a more detailed history of our farm and community. For now, for a longer account of Rogue Harbor Farm’s history and transition to organic production, check out our farm story that appeared in the Winter 1998 issue of Southern Sustainable Farming published by Southern SAWG.
